News From PCCA...

On May 18, the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) announced that the Power & Communications Contractors Association (PCCA) has won the 2019 CGA President's Award.

"The members of PCCA have embraced the philosophy that damage prevention is a shared responsibility," CGA President & CEO Sarah Magruder Lyle said. "This group has come to the table ready to work and find solutions to the damage prevention challenges that we face. PCCA’s leadership has been clear: they want to be part of the solution."

Since 2009, the CGA president has selected a company to receive the group's annual President's Award. The recipients have gone above and beyond to demonstrate their dedication to damage prevention during a given year.

"I would like to thank Sarah and CGA for choosing PCCA for this award," PCCA Chairman John Fluharty said. "As the CGA excavator representative and a PCCA board member, we have a unique position in the damage prevention industry. Increasing our CGA involvement was a smart move for PCCA, and we are eager to keep working with all stakeholders toward a safer underground environment. PCCA is very proud of this award, but we know that we have much work ahead of us and we will continue to work toward the reduction of damages with CGA, the only damage prevention association that can effectively implement change. Stay tuned."
