Levac1Dan Levac began his longstanding career in the telecommunications industry in his home country of Canada as a cable splicer for Bell Canada in 1980. After cutting his teeth in the splicing trade for several years, he eventually transitioned to what would become a 30+ year career with PLP in 1990. 

Dan first established his career at PLP by utilizing his decade-long experience as a cable splicer to provide exceptional training, troubleshooting, and customer service to the company’s end users. His early success quickly led to a promotion to Field Sales Representative in 1991, where he oversaw the sales and product support for the five-state region of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. In 1998, Dan was promoted to Western Regional Sales Manager, and in 2017 he was promoted to National Sales Manager, Communications Markets, where he oversaw and implemented PLP’s national sales strategy. In 2023, Dan was once again promoted at PLP, this time to Senior New Business Development Manager, where he was tasked with leading the company’s business development initiatives within the communications market.Levac2

In addition to his impressive sales and product support career, Dan was also instrumental in developing many revolutionary new products for the communications industry. During his distinguished career, he has contributed to the development of hundreds of new components for the communications industry, including sharing six patents for unique OSP products designed by PLP.

Throughout his 40+ year career within the telecommunications industry, Dan has continuously and proudly shared his knowledge and expertise through involvement with many different industry organizations and committees, including:

* PCCA (Two terms on the Board of Directors, Membership Committee, Education Committee, Government Affairs Committee)

* Fiber Broadband Association (Technology Committee, Deployment Specialist Committee)

* SCTE Buckeye Chapter (Chapter Secretary, Scholarship Committee, Membership Committee, Training Committee)

* SCTE National Chapters (Re-Energize Task Force Committee)

* ISE Expo (Two-time Executive Roundtable participant)

When introducing Dan for Hall of Fame induction, PCCA President & CEO Tim Wagner said, "Dan is the poster child for Associate Member involvement. He served two terms as an Associate Member Representative to the Board. He’s super active in the Government & Industry Affairs Committee and is involved in workforce development. He also volunteered to head the effort to publish installation requirements for high-density fiber. If there is something that needs to be done, Dan is your man."

Dan proudly shares this PCCA Hall of Fame honor with his loving wife, Lorrie, and their two children and grandchildren.
